Film Night – November 21

Source: Beyond Nuclear International

On Thursday, November 21, MPG is presenting two movies – “The Beginning of the end of Nuclear War” and “My Fish is Your Fish”.

Each film has a strong connection to the issue of nuclear weapons. The first is the story behind the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. Watch the trailer here. The second movie, from the Pacific Fellowship, documents the lasting impact of nuclear weapons testing on the Marshall Islands.

Come to Stirrup Gallery at the Addison Road Community Centre at 6.30pm, for a 7.00pm start.

Gem Romuld from the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) will attend. Entry free (donations appreciated). Enquiries contact Peter 0412 785 664 or Nick 0420 526 929.

Honour the War Dead by Ending War!

As in past years, MPG will be active again on Remembrance Day – Monday, November 11. The group aims to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph. The wreath will have white and yellow flowers (white for peace and yellow in recognition of service personnel who have taken their own lives). It will bear the slogan used in previous actions – ‘Honour the War Dead by Ending War!’

A wreath, procured by Antoinette Riley, was laid at the Cenotaph. Peter Griffin (in the photo) and Nick Deane represented MPG.
